Yellow Bike Project

KOLR 10 News this past week, a local group is recycling donated bicycles for community use in a community-run effort to cut down on traffic, pollution, poverty, and crime. The idea is that anyone who wants to can take a bicycle and ride it to where they need to go. Then when somebody else needs a bike, they will be able to use that same bike to get where they need to go.

Since April the group has taken donated bikes, fixed and painted them yellow, and spread them across Springfield for community use. The best thing about this program is it allows people to help our local environment by donating a bike that someone can use. The group is always looking for more bikes to expand this program in our community. If you would like to donate a serviceable used bike you can drop it off at Queen City Cycles located at 301 W. Walnut in downtown Springfield. Serviceable and unserviceable (needing repair) bikes are also being accepted at the Radish Infoshop located at 818 W. College in Springfield.
